This month, we’re excited to feature David Timerman, our Senior Full Stack Developer from our R&D team, relocating from Tel Aviv to Abu Dhabi with LIQUiDITY.

How did the relocation to Abu Dhabi come about?

Honestly, I only really became interested when our Co-founder & CEO, Ron Daniel mentioned that it’s possible at a company gathering in Tel Aviv. This past month, we were actually the first Israeli company to join the Abu Dhabi Investment Office’s Innovation Programme. Our Abu Dhabi R&D team has been scaling for the past year. The thought of doing what I love in a new and promising place such as the UAE was intriguing at first. I then realized I’d be collaborating with skilled, talented, and interesting people from around the world. That made it an attractive opportunity for me.

What brought you to LIQUiDITY in the first place?

I joined the team this past summer. I wanted to work somewhere with an exciting tech product and have the opportunity to grow professionally. Prior to joining, I worked as Full Stack Developer for more than a decade. I was drawn to the positive, motivated, and inclusive work atmosphere – and now see from the inside that it’s what I love about this place.

Have you been to Abu Dhabi before? What do you think it will be like for you there?

I’ve recently been to Abu Dhabi to work on a tech infrastructure project with our team, together with our CTO, Rony Keren. I also had the chance to get acquainted with the city. Abu Dhabi has an amazing urban infrastructure, and the cost of living is much more affordable than Tel Aviv, without having to give up on going to the beach! It’s sunny all year and the seaside is great. It’s the perfect setting to reach my career and personal goals. I also honestly feel so at home with the Abu Dhabi team already, we share core values - I’d say we’re similar in every way.

What does it mean for you to relocate to Abu Dhabi at this stage?

It’s exciting. I am moving to a growing team at a specific moment of its growth at scale. This is a special moment for a team, when you generally have unique opportunities and a more dynamic work environment. Overall, I am grateful for and inspired by the opportunity to go to a world-class business hub like Abu Dhabi, and collaborate with skilled people from different backgrounds for a common goal, in a beautiful city and new office. I’m sure I’ll have more to say once I get there.

In one sentence - what do you see as the mission of our two R&D hubs in Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi?

To be the foundation of a strategic team, driving the company upward to new heights.

David Timerman, originally from Buenos Aires, currently lives in Tel Aviv. He’s been working as a fullstack developer for almost a decade. He defines himself as a “team player,” and he’s well versed with the javascript ecosystem. He’ll be working closely with the team on our move to Node.js. He loves playing the piano and working out! Who’s joining him at the 19th-floor gym?
